Day 30- Curves day- rocked my workout. Progressed on most of my machines but got yelled at for my range of motion. I will work on improving that today.
Day 31- Core cardio and balance- I still love this workout. What I really love is what it is going to do for my posture.
When I was about 6 years old my peditrician told me I needed to sit up straight or I was going to have a terrible slouch when I grew up. "Yeah right!" I thought. "I will show her!" Now it's 26 years later and, you guessed it, I have a terrible slouch!
I didn't think much of it in Middle School and High School. Secretly I dreamed of being a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model but because of my red hair I spent most of my formative years being picked on and told how ugly I was. I am not blaming that for my slouch- some of that was just pure laziness- but when you get beaten down you tend to fold into yourself a bit. In high school I fancied myself a punk rocker which just added to the not caring aspect of how I looked. In college I thought about it, but figured it was to late for me. After I had my kids I realized I was really slouching and asked my doctor for help. "Strengthen your core" she told me. "You should straigten right up."
So now I am trying. I am working out. Listening to Shaun T and checking my posture as I do my excercises. But I have to be honest- sitting up straight is harder than Shaun T's workouts at times. But just like with Insanity I will be digging deeper in search of a stronger body.
Curves workout again tonight, Core cardio in the morning followed by a Chocolate party. Should make for an interesing day. Until then~
